Treasure of the Incas
Expedition
Searching for one of the world’s biggest unfound treasures in the Andes of Ecuador.
A lifetime quest of adventure and exploration.
In the Year 2013, Ecuadorian photographer and aerial pilot Jorge Anhalzer reached out to me with a unique photo of a hidden Big Wall in Ecuador. In that year I had climbed several ‘big walls’ outside of my country, and decided to start preparing for a big wall attempt in Ecuador. However, the remoteness of the location, the aggressive landscape, and the very hard technical obstacles demanded years of preparation to attempt to climb this wall. I targeted 2020 as the year of the climb.
This wall has been my lifetime project; being the only Big Wall ascent in my home land. It also includes a 500 year old legend of a hidden treasure, an extraordinary exploration component, and the opportunity to achieve something rarely done in the Northern Andes. After 20 expeditions both in Ecuador and abroad to prepare for the First Ascent of the 2,400 ft wall at 14,000 ft, I am ready to attempt the northwest face of Yurac Llanganati (Cerro Hermoso).
Expedition Sizzle Reel
“I am seeking a treasure, not made of gold or silver, but the opportunity to explore the unique Ecuadorian geography. That is the REAL treasure.”
